Who is Nate?

Hi, I’m Nate!

Now, if you’ve landed here, your likely wondering who is this guy, and why should I vote for him? Good question; hopefully there is enough info on this site to help you feel confident in a vote for Nate, but if not, you can email me here, tweet me here, leave a message on my Facebook page here, or comment on the bottom of this page, and I’ll be happy to chat and hopefully convince you that a vote for Nate is a vote for the Squamish of tomorrow!

Who is Nate?

I’m a dad to my kids Chloe and Liam, a husband to my wife Kristy, and I have called Squamish home since 2008. When we first visited this place on a house hunting trip, we were struck by the natural beauty, amenities, affordability, and most importantly, the potential. It is this potential that has brought me to seek a seat on council.

Am I qualified for this job?

In my day job, I solve problems. Some are big, some are small, but all equally important. In solving these problems I need to get to the core of the issue, collaborate with the affected stakeholders, articulate the needs to other groups, coordinate tasks, and manage change.

To put it simply: I build the dream and provide the map to get there.

Could these skills be put to good use at municipal hall?

I believe so, but I’ll leave that decision to you.

  2. Thanks for the question!

By day, I am a Business Analyst for TSI, Canada's largest container terminal operator. Our facilities include Vanterm Container Terminal in Vancouver's inner harbour and Deltaport on Roberts Bank opposite the Tsawwassen ferry terminal.

My work mostly involves process optimization and automation, and I act as a liaison between our Operations group and our IT group.
